…to continue with the two-car container wagon: Static tests and impact tests

After lifting the container wagon into the test frame, the vertical and horizontal load cases were carried out first. In accordance with the normative requirements, this was done with the container wagon both being unloaded and loaded. Ballasting was carried out with a total of 4 20-foot containers.

After dismantling the test setup and transporting the container wagon and the ballasting containers to the test track, the impact tests were initially carried out with the unloaded wagon.

Thereafter the containers were put back on and the tests were continued with the maximum total mass of the container wagon. A company-owned bumper wagon is been used for the impact tests.

A large number of measurement signals such as forces, accelerations, strains and speeds were recorded during both the static and impact tests.
